1968
Our founder Mike Adams started "Adams” out of the back of his Pontiac sedan.

1972
We moved into our first official storefront on Eleanor St. in Schenectady. The first “warehouse” consisted of a single car garage.
 
1978

Only 6 short years later, we outgrew our first location and purchased a store with a legitimate warehouse right on the main drag in Schenectady.

1989 
Taking a huge leap of faith, we purchased 5 acres next to Mohonasen High School and built a 23,000 sq. ft. facility. After our first year in business at our new location, our revenue doubled.

1992
Again running out of space, we set forth on construction of another 10,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space.

1993
With all this new space, we opened up a separate supply business called “Adams Heating Supply Co.,” which would wholesale goods to Adams Heating and Cooling along with other smaller local heating and cooling businesses.
 

2012
With business growing, we set out to achieve the goal of becoming completely paperless. This included the investment of a large amount of money in a software system to better service our thousands of customers

2014
It was time for a facelift… we embarked on a total office makeover with a new break room and all new desks and furniture.

2021
A new 10,000 sq. ft. addition brought our total building space to over 43,000 sq. ft.
